People of Siem Reap… Abandoned Interesting Debates Lately
Sep 27

My heart has been deeply saddened the last few weeks. There is nothing that gets me more worked up than issues of racism and discrimination. I am utterly disguisted by any group of human beings that foster hate. As if there isn’t enough on this planet already. This entire situation is a host allowing hate to grow and spread like a bad infection. And the media, you disgraceful pigs, should know I blame you the most.

These boys are all CHILDREN. This is not an earth shattering display of antiquated racism still present on the earth. They are immature, pissed off teenagers that acted upon the stereotypes their pathetic parents and culture (culture: symbols of person and place that are socially shared) have brainwashed them to believe. I would like to state here and now, I firmly believe that discrimination is a myth. Talking about discrimination “existing” personifies it and is speaking like its a terrible thing that has control of us. The ideals of this myth are given power by people talking about them and acting upon them. Well guess what world: DISCRIMINATION HAS NO POWER OVER ME.

THE MAIN QUESTION: WHY ARE WE TEACHING KIDS THAT VIOLENCE is okay!??!? Oh yeah you 6, you can beat the piss out of somebody if you want. We’ll all come protest that you were allowed to do that. NO MATTER WHAT THE CASE IS, THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS JUST VIOLENCE.

I am tired of hearing about it, thinking about it. Today was a campus protest about setting the six CRIMINALS free simply because the person they beat the snot out was also a CRIMINAL. Too bad for everyone involved there’s no loop holes for the “he deserved it” clause. SO STOP TALKING ABOUT IT. We have a law and a government and a police force. Protest them if you don’t like crimes being punished (and don’t call 911 if its you that gets the snot beat out of you). Here’s where some argumentative hate-breeder would comment about the unpunished harrassment that began the whole situation. My response: you’re right. Nobody wants to talk about creating a better world anymore. Theres millions of trillions of words being vomited in our faces about all the negative things and yet, nobody can seem to create anything. I’m sick of it.

I wish everyone (except myself of course) that have given this disguisting event attention could all just go away forever.

So I know that you’re not supposed to be the first to comment on your own post but oh well. I wrote this post actually for a class discussion board about media coverage and the new civil rights movement. (etc etc). My class all responded. LOL. (that means laughing out loud) Which is what I did. A lot. Everyone was responding saying “How can we identify the problem if we don’t learn about it on the news” and “We need media coverage to change anything”. (LOL continues). But MAINLY I got: How is discrimination a myth?

    My response..

dis·crim·i·nate -verb (used without object) 1. to make a distinction in favor of or against a person on the basis of the group, class, or category to which the person or thing belongs rather than according to actual merit

If both parties involved are both punks using hositilty to poison society.. then how can it be descrimination? They’re the same. There’s no distinguishing because you cannot separate out somebody that is the same as you. And worse off, the only thing they could conjure up as an excuse was skin color. Idiots. At least think about it long enough to think of something good. Watch out, next week troublemakers might choose teeshirt color or length of hair as a good excuse. But then the media and friends get involved and personify the myth and suddenly the whole nation is talking about another civil rights movement. I’m starting and anti-punk movement. And most people involved in this case would be included.

And thats all I have to say about that.

Shannon, Why exactly are you studying medicine? Having an opinion and then standing up to debate it in open forum sounds more like Law to me. I don’t know why more of us don’t have yours or your brothers passions about looking at a wrong and be willing to stand up to defuse or correct it. I am incredibly proud and sometimes I don’t necessary agree. Most issues are black or white and rarely gray. Gray action rarely produces any results…your grampa taught us that. Thank you.
